A short introduction: This cd contains 12 classical songs from “Lariulà” and “Voce e notte” to the titletrack “Fenesta che lucive”harmonized for chorus in a very original way and also performed by Gino Evangelista who, for this occasion, plays both classical instruments (mandolino, guitar and flaute) and ethnic ones (oud and many kind of percussions). The result is a cd remarking the marvellous melodies of neapoletan songs performed in a older and ethnic way.

Coro Polifonico San Leonardo di Procida

The Chorus was born in 1989 in order to satisfy the need of spreading the musical message. The band, made of almost 40 persons, is one of the more exciting enterprises of Island of Procida. It has the ambitious project of finding ancient songs; they have discovered old ‘800 songs as a result of a hard work of research.

During these years The Chorus could experiment its skills, playing both sacre and profane music, enriching it with classical neapolitan melodies.

Graziella Scotto di Vettimo is the soloist singer. Wonderful soprano, she can easily sing every kind of music. She has been singing in the group “Solisti Cantori” lead by Emanuela di Pietro since 1998, performing in Paris the Traviata by G.Patroni Griffi directed by Zubin Mehta in June 2000. She performed in Portici, at Chiesa dell’Incoronata, with pianist Aldo de Vero; she peformed the Stabat Mater by G.B. Pergolesi in Procida with remarkabe and refined style during the Holy Week of 2001.

Aldo de Vero is the director of Coro Polifonico “San Leonardo”- Island of Procida -, and also the author of all their works inspired by tradition of Neapolitan classical songs. After getting a piano degree at Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella in Naples,he set up and directed in 1995 an orchestra made of young musicians and had very good critics.

As a pianist, Aldo de Vero joint and set many chamber music ensambles to propose significative and rarely performed music to his public. He had the honour to perform for the first time the “Three Quarter Tone Pieces”by Charles Ives in Naples during G7 Summit in 1994.
